Massachusetts' current bottle bill passed in 1982 does not include iced tea, water bottles, or energy drinks, whose popularity has exploded since then. Because of this non-deposit containers get recycled at only a 23% rate, as opposed to 80% for deposit containers. Question 2 will update the enormously successful Bottle Bill to close this loophole, saving the taxpayers of Massachusetts upwards of $7 million per year in cleanup and disposal costs. Vote Yes on Question 2!
